Advanced Neuroscience and Conciousness Study Group

Study Group

Celebrating our **Tenth** Study Group Anniversary with:

What DOES the Body Know?

This year is our TENTH yearly deep dive into aspects of neuroscience and consciousness. In 2026, we’ll focus on coming to a richer and more complex understanding of the role the body plays in cognition, intuition, helping us find truth, holding both trauma and healing, and connecting us to the universal stream of consciousness.

In this day and age, most of us experienced in coaching, neuroscience and/or trauma know that our bodies are a key part of our human processing system, not just something whose purpose is to (as Thomas Edison may have said) “carry the brain around.” We know that our bodies play a key role in emotions, that trauma gets stuck in the body, and that our intelligence and understanding can be enhanced by including movement, interoception, and embodiment.

And so, in this year’s Study Group, we’re taking our work with the body as coaches to the next level, both in terms of deepening understanding and having more scope and ideas for application with our clients. We’ll explore the newest and most cutting-edge and validated research on fascinating topics such as (see session-by-session below for more detail):

    1.  What are the fundamentals of working with the body in coaching? What is the current research about interoception, embodiment, movement, and the impact of the environment our bodies are in? How can we expand our awareness and skills?
    2. In what ways does the body actually “think” and what is the emerging research on this? How do we apply in our coaching? Does the body “know truth” and if so, how? What are the access points and reliability of this knowledge and what are the tools we can use to help our clients access it?
    3. What else can we learn and access in terms of the body’s role in intuition? What’s current/emergent in this arena? How do we discern what it is telling us more easily?
    4. What is the latest understanding about how the body holds both trauma and healing? What new techniques are emerging? How and when do we use these (or not) with clients?
    5. In what ways do our bodies connect us to the collective consciousness? What does it mean to understand the body as a sacred vessel? What are the coaching tools and practices to bring this to our clients – and what is the impact?

    Requirements

Structure: Each topic has a main session followed by an application session the next month. You’ll receive readings and videos to go over in advance, and also Ann’s notes which condense the information. We do an additional application session because we’ve found over the years that the topics bring so much up for people that it works well to have a dedicated session for time in small groups to really chew on things and share personal experiences, knowledge and thoughts.

Prerequisite: We ask that all participants are currently enrolled in and/or have been through the basics of our Neuroscience, Consciousness and Transformational Coaching program (in-person or virtual) or our Neuroscience, Coaching and Relational Trauma program.

    When:

    • Main sessions are 90 minutes, application sessions are one hour: all sessions will be held Tuesdays, noon US EST
    • detailed schedule below

    Where: Zoom

Live Program $495*, Recorded Only Program $195

AND the first TEN people to sign up for the live program will receive a special gift from me in the mail. Shhhh! It’s a secret but I’m pretty sure you will love it. And yes, I will ship outside the U.S.

    A Note From Ann:

This group started ten(!) years ago because so many of you expressed an interest in traveling more deeply into pure neuroscience (and being connected to a group of people with similar yearning and background), always as it connects to human development and coaching. And while I love teaching all our programs, this is honestly one of my favorite things to do! It not only keeps me incredibly stimulated, it is also a fantastic structure for staying well-connected to what is out there on the cutting edge. Past years have brought real depth of understanding of new areas and even changes to our core program. We always have a blast and expand our awareness. I hope you can join us in 2026!

    Program Overview

    What and When

We’ll start February 3 and meet virtually via Zoom 10 times throughout the year (see below for specific dates and content.)

The main calls will have group interaction, sharing of your thoughts and Q and A, but will also have a more comprehensive presentation of the materials we’ve been studying. The application sessions will focus on applying the learning to our own lives so that we can really appreciate the learning from the inside out!

    Here’s what you can expect:

    • Pre-reading/viewing assignments approximately 2-4 weeks ahead of each class;
    • Study guides and my “Cliff Notes” on each section approximately 1-2 weeks ahead of each class;
    • A Facebook group for connection and sharing resources; and
    • A community of passionate learners who share a neuroscience, coaching and consciousness background and perspective!

The Fundamentals of Working with the Body in Coaching

    February

Tuesday February 3rd, noon-1:30 US EST

What is the current research about interoception, embodiment, movement, and the impact of the environments our bodies are in? How can we expand our awareness of the impact of these classic aspects of working with the body?

    March

Tuesday March 3rd, noon-1:00 US EST

Application of February Session to coaching: using the fundamentals in new ways.

    What DOES the Body “Know?”

    April

Tuesday April 21st, noon-1:30 US EST

In what ways does the body actually “think” and what is the emerging research on this? Research has shown that the body has the ability to send not just data but completed calculations to the brain—what does this mean and how does it do this? What else is coming to light as more research accumulates about embodied wisdom? In this session we’ll also explore if and how the body “knows truth.” What are the access points and reliability of this knowledge? What research can we count on and are there limits to what our bodies can know?

    May

Tuesday May 12th, noon-1:00 US EST

Application of April Session to coaching: what are the tools we can use to help our clients access the body’s knowledge and truth?

Deeping Our Understanding of the Body’s Role in Intuition

    June

    June 9, 2026 – 12:00 to 1:30 pm EST

What else can we learn and access in terms of the body’s role in intuition? When we go through the intuition system in our neuroscience program, we look at four different ways our bodies connect with intuition, but are there more? What’s current/emergent in this arena? How do we discern what it is telling us more easily? (For those who have not been through the Intuition System in the neuroscience program, we’ll provide an overview.)

    July

Tuesday July 14th, noon-1:00 US EST

Application of June Session to coaching: accessing (and trusting) the body’s intuition.

    NO AUGUST SESSION

    Trauma and Healing

    September

    September 8, 2026 – 12:00 to 1:30 pm EST

What is the latest understanding about how the body holds both trauma and healing? What new techniques are emerging? When we say “the body keeps the score” what does this actually mean and how can we (as coaches) work with this when appropriate? And what is the body’s role in helping us heal?

    October

Tuesday October 13th, noon-1:00 US EST

Application of September Session to coaching: how and when (and if) to use these techniques in coaching.

    The Body and Oneness

    November

    November 10th, 2026 – 12:00 to 1:30 pm EST

In what ways do our bodies connect us to the collective consciousness? What does it mean to understand the body as a sacred vessel? Is the body somehow separate and “of this earth” only, or does it provide a direct line to spirit and oneness? And if so, how?

    December

Tuesday December 1st, noon-1:00 US EST

Application of November Session to coaching: What are the coaching tools and practices to bring this to our clients – and what is the impact?
